Being Yourself

I think the scariest thing about being (or trying to be) yourself (without the facades) is the risk.

Supposing that facades act like a shield. Should you not be accepted as this one personality, you simply swap it with another.

The risk of being real. The risk of not being accepted for the you you truly are. That state of vulnerability.

But then again, not everybody accepts you anyway.

actually its much harder and tiring to be someone which are not you.

The fact that you might need to keep track all of your 'shields' will definitely drain you in the long run and you're kinda like cheating yourself ...

Just be the one where God's uniquely created you and you'll be fine :D

Gong Gong Ron :P

P.S::Not everybody accepts you coz they are not you :P

I think the danger about having shields is that after a while, you become your shield and you lose yourself completely.

Wearing a shield can sometimes be so comfortable that the moment you put down the shield, you don't recognise the person behind it anymore.

I think to put the stop to wearing shields is to first accept deep inside your heart who you really are and not be ashamed of it. Sometimes, I find putting on a mask is easier because I despise who I really am deep inside.

Its a lot easier said than done.

Esteem risk, huh?

I like the concept of the Internal Scorecard and External Scorecard that Warren Buffet subscribes to. If you have an internal scorecard, the question is "Can i accept myself as who i am?" and if you have an external scorecard, the question becomes "Can i be accepted if i am who i am?"

It is so much easier, and fulfilling to have an internal scorecard, after all, it's a lot easier to please the one most important person in your life than it is to please the multitudes.
